In May of 2011, Nielsen published an article titled: “Five Things to Know about Online Grocery Shopping”. What Nielsen is saying in this article is that in 2010, Online Grocery Shopping reached $12 billion in sales, which only represents about 2% of all sales in the grocery industry. They then said that this sales rate is expected to double in four years to $25 billion by 2014; that’s only 2 years down the road.


Recognizing the aging population of baby boomers, the increasing number of individuals over-committed in their personal lives, and the growing acceptance of online shopping and home grocery delivery,  GroceryLines' founders set out to create a company that addresses the needs of these global trends.
